Pacific Partnerships is powering up Australia’s energy transition to meet the nation’s net zero targets.
We’re proud to be driving the nation’s energy transition and helping Australia hit its net zero targets - faster.
From solar farms to cutting-edge battery energy storage systems (BESS), we originate, develop, invest in, deliver, own, operate, and maintain the next generation of energy projects across the country.
We also ensure that benefits from energy projects are actively shared with local communities.
Our work showcases the strength of the CIMIC Group’s integrated approach, and we’re pleased to support the latest Australian Financial Review Insights report - featuring bold perspectives from the industry leaders shaping Australia’s clean energy landscape.
Called Energising Change: Accelerating Australia's energy transition infrastructure, the paper outlines strategies to address challenges of new infrastructure, including rising costs and project delays.
These delivery and operational strategies have proven effective on our three solar farm and BESS projects and a stand-alone BESS projects across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
This includes fast-track delivery of the Glenrowan Solar Farm in Victoria, where we developed, privately financed and contracted with CIMIC Group company UGL for delivery, operation and maintenance. This integrated approach reduced uncertainty and time, with the project completed on time in 12 months and fully operational since May 2024.
The Glenrowan Solar Farm project also secured a power purchase agreement with the Victorian State Government and is funding community grants through its benefit sharing program. The project values and maintains its strong social licence and ongoing engagement with the community and invests directly in the surrounding region to meet local needs.
In New South Wales (NSW), the Cobbora Solar Farm and BESS was granted access rights by Energy Co as a foundation generator to the NSW Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ). As one of the largest solar farms in Australia, it is a key project for the Central West Orana (CWO) REZ, which in turn is pivotal for the state’s energy transition. Being selected as part of this critical new ‘renewable power station’ for NSW is a significant achievement for the project, and a positive reflection of the progress being made.
In addition, Cobbora Solar Project is of state significance for NSW and was also selected in early 2025 for inclusion on the Federal Government’s inaugural National Renewable Energy Priority List. Recognition of this type streamlines permitting and paves the way for further approval and development milestones.
In Queensland, the Hopeland Solar Farm and BESS has secured investment certainty by being accepted into the federal government’s Capacity Investment Scheme, an arrangement with the private sector which de-risks investment into the energy transition. It is strategically located in the Western Downs Renewable Energy Zone and close to an existing substation, which is ideal for integrating renewable energy and potential battery storage.
