Sydney Metro Northwest is Stage 1 of Sydney Metro - Australia’s biggest public transport project.

The $8.3 billion infrastructure investment – also Australia’s first fully automated railway network – will support growth in Sydney’s expanding northwest region.

Project delivery, under a public private partnership, includes construction, procurement of rolling stock and operation for 15 years.

The Northwest Rapid Transit Consortium includes Pacific Partnerships as an equity investor, CPB Contractors as part of the design and construction delivery and UGL.

    Scope

The project will deliver eight new metro stations, five existing stations upgraded to metro standards, 23km of new track, 4,000 commuter parking spaces and Sydney’s new generation of fully automated metro trains.

Services for Sydney Metro Northwest will start in the first half of 2019 with a metro train every four minutes in the peak - that’s 15 trains an hour.
